Just like mommie’s – Doll sized diaper bag set

This is a perfect gift for any little girl or boy that likes to have baby dolls. I put it together with pockets on the inside just like a full sized diaper bag , made mini cloth wipes and mini cloth diapers all to match. I can not wait for this set to get to its new home. I know that the little princess this was ordered for is going to love it!!
Macy’s new dress

I am totally in love with this pattern! It was so fun to pick out fabrics and gave room for creative expression! I did a few tweeks to the pattern to suit my prefrences but over all it is perfect!!
Cloth tissues for sensitive noses

My darling eco-nut of a son is crazy about all things eco-friendly. This is the same child who tells complete strangers they don’t need bags for their goods at the grochery store (while I turned 50 shades of red, yes that really happens). Anyway, he refuses to blow his nose with paper tissues so I thought I would give hankies a chance and guess what?! IT WORKES! He loves them and totally uses them. And so easy to make. I took a nice old sheet with a high thread count (it had worn through in the center) dyed it with some fun partial emersion dye and after chopping it all into tissue sized squares serged the edges and presto! I figure I probably also managed to drop a good portion out of my tissue budget!
Shoe covers, for when your guests don’t want to take off their shoes

I know, long time no write, but thngs have been crazy around here and with yet another surgery for me on the 11th (for those of you keeping track that will in fact make 5 since june) writing has not been a priority. I have had some really great projects lately and one of them was the opportunity to come up with a solution to the barrage of dirt that was being tracked into one of my favorite clients homes by her in-laws. The issue was how to keep the dirt off her floors without them taking their shoes off, and while disposable covers are available, they arn’t very “green”. These are what we came up with. She picked out the fabrics and I sewed them all up. They have the pretty fabric on the outside but a nice thick barrier fabric on the inside so even if there is a little damp on the shoes it wont soak through! They turned out reallywell and she said they work great! Next set will have some form of grippy on them though as I imagine ppl could slip and slide on hardwoods
llama love – Our newest rescues are getting friendly

We are back up to a tiny herd of 3 rescues and looking to pick up 3 more in the next couple of months. Hamish, the black one, is turning the corner fastest. He was one of the most skiddish ones and now after just a couple of months, he is willing to let us pet him and even gives llama kisses. Their fiber is wonderful so we are looking forward to the spring shearing. They are best with Aidan. They associate him with llama treats I think. We finally completed the 17′ x 17′ shelter yesterday. We needed a larger place for them to go if they choose to get out of the rain. When it was just 2 smaller llamas the smaller shelter worked out great but these guys are a little on the lardy side as they were not fed approprietely at their last home. It seems that people like to get these lovely creatures but never bother to do any research as to what they need to eat or what they need socially. We are thrilled to have them now though!

Custom order appliques

I was given pictures of 3 skeins of yarn and given the chance to be creative with the appliques, It was AMAZING! This mom was a thrill to work with and loves the same vibe I do with a more retro funky feel. I was very very happy with how these turned out and I can not wait to see them in action!
Baby Doll sling

Aidan as my ever cooperative model and this is my latest baby doll sling that is off to a very special little girl in Surprise , AZ. It is just the right size for little ones and enables them to carry their baby dolls just like mommy carries the real thing! This sling also will be sent with cloth diapers for baby dolls as well. They are fun and colorful and kids just love them. A great gift for anyt occasion I have found. I am looking to give a couple more to some older (ages 7-10) girls who love baby dolls too. That will be a slightly larger version. What fun!
BEEEEEEautiful round neck tunic

this adoreable tunic is a custom I made for a cute-as-a-button 18 mo old. It is not a dress but a long shirt, it was designed to match a pair of longies made by her mama out of yellow and black wool yarn she had custom dyed. It was not the easiest pattern to follow but I am thrilled with the end result and it gave me creative licence to create the appliques of my choice! Next time around with this pattern I will make some changes that will make the whole thing easier for me to execute. I can not wait to see pics of it on the darling little girl!
Scented wool dryer balls – a more eco friendly way to make your clothes dry faster

As you probably know I hang dry my clothes on a line the vast majority of the time. I love the way that helps both my budget and the environment, but with winter on its way it was time to ake a few more dryer balls to eliminate the need for dryer sheets, which can cause your machine to catch fire, keep static electricity under control and best of all cut my dryer time by 50%! Natural, alternative to PVC/Plastic/Rubber Dryer Balls & disposable dryer sheets! Consisting of 100% sheep and llama wool, Talented Mommies Dryer Balls are soft, safe & unbreakable.
Why use wool dryer balls?
~Reduce your drying time by 25%, sometimes more, thus saving energy!
~Soften and fluff your laundry without the use of harsh chemical additives such as those used in fabric softener and dryer sheets.
~A more Eco friendly alternative to either PVC balls or dryer sheets.
~Also safe for cloth diaper users! These TM Dryer Balls are safe and effective to soften the natural fibers in your diapers without compromising absorption and causing wicking.
Why wool?
Other than it’s environmentally friendly, renewable resource qualities, wool is the only fiber that naturally resists ignition. Unlike many artificial fibers which often melt and stick when on fire, wool usually smolders or chars instead of bursting into flame. Although wool will burn under intense fire, it normally self-extinguishes when the flame source is removed.
Each TM Dryer ball is made and scented by hand. Pilling after use is also common and does not affect the performance of the dryer balls; however, you can remove them with a sweater shaver if they bother you. Please note that TM Dryer Balls scent may fade after time, this is normal.
Re-scenting is easily done by contacting me at:Heather@talentedmommies.com Attn: re-scenting
A little about the wool we use:
We take pride and care in the choices of products that we use. We here at Talented Mommies have ensured that the wool we use is from local well cared for sheep, our very own rescued llamas, and llamas from family farms.
Wool fleece, from raw greasy silver to georgous purple

Just wanted to share with you the georgous purple wool fleece I just dyed tonight. I cleaned the wool straight from the raw (yeah there was debris) which took about 4 hours in total but the transformation was amazing, here are a couple of photos for your enjoyment. I will soon make these into wool dryer balls and scent them with something delicious. I recently ordered more essential oils. I will show those off later
enjoy these pictures for now!
